SAM Management contracted Wildlife Busters to Resolve Muskrat Issue

Rockland County, New York, United States of America – April 18, 2011 — SAM Management contracted Wildlife Busters to resolve a historical muskrat issue at on of their primary properties. SAM Management is a commercial property manager based out of New Paltz, NY. This particular property is a multifamily located in Walden, NY. The property had been experiencing historical muskrat issues due to their extensive burrowing activity surrounding the pond area. Muskrat damage is primarily caused by burrowing into ponds, irrigation ditch banks, water impoundments or reservoirs. Their burrow usually enters below the water level and angles upward to create space above the water level. When the water rises, the muskrat burrows further up the bank creating a situation that eventually causes landscape collapse. In addition to the structural issues, muskrats are carriers of Tularemia and Tyzzer’s Disease. Because of the public nature of the circumstance it was important to resolve the issues quickly and efficiently.

“Due to the public access area surrounding the pond, it was imperative that we service the account in the early morning or late evening hours. In addition, we made ourselves accessible to educate the tenant base on why the muskrat required removal, both from a health and liability perspective,” stated Ben Munger, President and Co-Owner of Wildlife Busters. Wildlife Busters provides multiple solutions for muskrat issues, each providing a long-term, effective result.
